No More XBOX LIVE for Original Xbox

In the I-can’t-believe-people-still-have-not-upgraded-the-xbox column, Major Nelson announced that the orginal xbox will no longer connect to xbox live after April 15, 2010.  The original Xbox games and systems have been the hold up on a lot of XBL features including having more than 100 friends (yeah we know, some of you all will NEVER have to worry about that *cough* te *cough* ks *cough* g) .  Engadget notes that the timing of this announcement mere days before the x10 event in San Francisco February 11 can’t be coincidental, we should find out what comes next by then.
